Jessica Funk-Haslam case: Who murdered Jessica?
13-year-old Jessica Funk-Haslam’s dead body was found on the morning of March 6 by a woman walking in the Rosemont Community Park. The Sacramento County Coroner has ruled that Jessica died of a combination of asphyxia, a stab wound to the neck and blunt force trauma to the head. Curiously, however, there were no instruments that could have been used to inflict these fatal wounds found in the area where Jessica’s body was discovered. Also curious is that she had ran out the front door while in a confrontation with her mother the night before and never was reported missing.
The park where Jessica was found murdered is about 2 miles from the Windsor apartments where she lived and was last seen alive by her mother. Tara Funk-Haslam has told police Jessica ran away after an argument and that just prior to Jessica leaving she had “wanted to meet someone”. Tara says that Jessica “voluntarily” left her cell phone behind in the house when she left during the heated argument. This raises some concerns in my mind because if the girl was leaving, in the volatile situation described, to meet “someone”, wouldn’t she take her phone to ensure she met up with them?...read more and join the debate
